Of course, we all know that power lines can be dangerous but, for some reason, some people proceed to build their treehouse near one anyway. Whether it is due to constraints with space or anything else, this immediately increases the chances of a child getting burned or even electrocuted. Whenever children get intrigued, they like to touch and reaching up to a power line with a stick is a very bad idea as you would imagine.

With strong winds, branches of a tree might even come in contact with the power lines which can cause a fire. For this reason, many utility companies stay alert of treehouses and they can even demand for the house to be taken down if the risk is severe enough. Alternately, they might have the tree pruned before then reminding the homeowner of the associated risks. Aside from power lines, cliffs, water features, and roads should also be avoided.

So while we don’t usually inspect treehouses, it is still good information for our clients
