Maybe when you think of having a home inspection performed, you think of this being done for an older home, one that has had time for things to start going wrong or that with age is requiring maintenance.  But, what about a house that is brand new, or even still undergoing construction? Does that need inspecting? After all, it has never been lived in and everything is new.

While obviously unintentional, mistakes happen during construction and sometimes these mistakes can go unnoticed.  If this happens, you could find yourself encountering problems with the home later on.   You may end up with electrical or plumbing issues, even those working on the home might cause some damage by using things like electrical outlets or even the sinks.

It helps to have your home inspector involved early on during construction.  Why? This enables the inspector to get an idea of the way the home is being constructed, they will be able to have a close look at the electrics and plumbing etc. and be able to notice problems before they are covered over with drywall or attractive finishes.  Having your home inspector know the home from the inside out is extremely beneficial even later on, as they will they be able to detect problems much quicker.
